We are proud to welcome Kassio Fernandes Magalhães as the new Head Men’s Soccer Coach. With an accomplished international playing career and a modern, athlete-centered coaching philosophy, Coach Kassio brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and passion to our program.
Originally from Brazil, Kassio enjoyed a successful professional playing career from 2006 to 2020, competing for clubs in Brazil, Cyprus, China, Israel, and Portugal. As a central defender, he earned a reputation for defensive consistency, leadership, and a relentless competitive spirit.
One of the most notable chapters of his playing career came in Israel, where he achieved tremendous success. During that time, he helped his club capture the Israeli Cup in the 2013/2014 season, the Israeli Super Cup in the 2015/2016 season, and the Toto Cup in the 2015/2016 season.
His impact on the field was also recognized individually. Kassio was voted Best Central Defender in the Israeli League by sports journalists in both the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 seasons, cementing his status as one of the top defenders in the country.
After his professional playing career ended due to injury, Kassio transitioned into coaching with the same determination that defined his years as a player. In 2023, he began his UEFA coaching diploma training and served as assistant coach at Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona, helping guide the club back to the top division after winning the second division championship in the 2023/2024 season.
He later became head coach of the Under-17 team at Vila Nova FC, where he focused on the technical, tactical, and personal development of young athletes. Kassio then continued his coaching journey in the United States with Nona Soccer Academy, working with Under-16 and Under-17 teams in MLS Next, one of the nation’s premier youth development platforms.
Today, Coach Kassio begins an exciting new chapter as the leader of our men’s soccer program. His modern vision of the game, commitment to excellence, and dedication to developing student-athletes both on and off the field make him an outstanding fit for our team.
